Nikolas Wurlitzer built his first musical instrument, a lute, in Saxonia
1853
The Rudolph Wurlitzer Company was founded in Cincinnati, Ohio.
1880
Manufacturing of pianos begins.
1910
The "Mighty Wurlitzer" theatre organ is introduced.
1933
Wurlitzer starts to be associated with Jukeboxes.
1955
Manufacturing of portable electric pianos begins.
1988
The Baldwin Piano Company purchases Wurlitzer's piano-making assets and brand.
2002
Gibson Brands, Inc. acquires Baldwin Piano Company.
2021
The original Wurlitzer family re-secures the rights to the brand for multiple music and consumer electronics categories and regions.
